Trees

Trees offer a subject of infinite variety. Here's a collection from far and wide. Top two, the view from our backyard, 2009. South Carolina, 2007. Grey County, Ontario, tornado damage, 2009. View from Highway 89, 2009. Two from South Carolina, 2008. Two from country north of Belleville, 2009. Sunset through the trees, South Carolina, 2009. Three from Savannah, Georgia, 2009. Mexico, 2012.

More to See and Do

More from outside Tweed, Ontario, February 2009. More to see and do! is the tourist slogan there. These are not patterns of wild nature, but they might be said to illustrate another of Kate's themes. Decay. Or entropy. The wearing down of things.

More Household Shapes

Can't say I remember that fish, or know whatever happened to it! Lots of shells around the place from trips down south. The photographs are of my mother (left), Kate's parents (right), grandmother (center). All 2009.

Household Shapes

April 2009. The geometry of the every day. No, no one murdered at our place. We were drawing chalk outlines of our shadows. Those two white chairs represent so much. Happy times. Quiet times. Promise. It makes me feel just love, to see them paired together. They remain on my front porch and are almost never used. Except by the cat! Later we removed all of the grass and planted wild flower/plant garden.
