Household Shapes

April 2009. The geometry of the every day. No, no one murdered at our place. We were drawing chalk outlines of our shadows. Those two white chairs represent so much. Happy times. Quiet times. Promise. It makes me feel just love, to see them paired together. They remain on my front porch and are almost never used. Except by the cat! Later we removed all of the grass and planted wild flower/plant garden.

It's a Wild, Wild Life

Wild patterns of the natural world caught Kate's eye, as I have mentioned. Also, random patterns of the manufactured world. Images like these repeat in her oeuvre. Goin' Down the Road

Summer, 2006. Outside Tweed, Ontario. Photos taken in the months before I met her, and in the months after the end of her first marriage. I can't help but look at these and think Kate was contemplating that life is hard, but life is good. They show her trademark attraction to the wild patterns of the natural world and the insertion of the built within it.
