Book Series

March 2011. The month of her mastectomy. The "back room"-slash-office where she blogged got some new furniture. A corner unit for the computer. Shelves for books. Hers. The windows looked out on the garden. Still do. It's where she hung out. It's where the kids hang out. It's where she died. "How do you like my hotel room?" she said to visiting friends, who had come to give final good-byes. Personality is persistent, isn't it?

I did a post of bird houses last fall - here. Also one of birds, South Carolina. I found four more bird house photographs. Actually, three houses, one bird feeder that looks like a house. Cardinals

Action sequence, September 2011. Final one, 2009. After we moved into our house we realized that being on a hill attracted a lot of birds. The row of backyards acted like a micro climate. Cardinals were frequent, sometimes even seen in pairs. The dramatic flash of red always caught the eye. Kate was glad to get the one below in mid-flight.

Robins

Continuing the bird series with ... robins! First two from 2011, the rest from 2009, when we had three robin families hatch on our front porch, one after the other, the only time that's happened. Following the photographs is a video from that year.
